To ensure that the city is as environmentally conscious as possible, Miami has a wealth of green initiatives that stretch from the Everglades to Miami Beach. Miami is a “progressive, pragmatic city,” and the leaders are enforcing green building codes and beach laws, restaurants are more sustainable and creating recipes from local produce and seafood, and, citywide, facilities are doing their part to make a positive impact on the environment.
KEEPING MIAMI GREEN
Miami-Dade County is pleased to share the “GreenPrint” a design for a sustainable future. The plan's development was a fully collaborative process. During the course of the year, nearly 100 public meetings were held, and approximately 360 new and existing initiatives were evaluated. Many serious commitments were made.
If you’d like to jump into keeping your city ‘green’ join the “Dream In Green” (DIG) nonprofit organization which is focused solely on energy and water conservation in South Florida.
